Account & Data Deletion

This page explains how to delete your Sathee: AI Exam Prep Free account (com.sathee_app) and the data associated with it. It is published so that users and Google Play can find the deletion route in one place.

How to request deletion

Send an email to sathee@iitk.ac.in with the subject Account deletion request, from the email address registered on your account where possible, and include:

the mobile number or email address your SATHEE account is registered with;
the name on the account;
whether you want the whole account deleted or only specific data removed (for example your test history).

What we verify first

So that nobody can delete someone else's account, we confirm that the request comes from the account holder — usually by replying to the registered email address or by sending a one-time passcode to the registered mobile number. If we cannot verify ownership, we will not delete the account.

What may be retained, and why

Some records are not removed immediately:

Server access logs containing IP address and request metadata are kept for security and diagnostic purposes for a limited period before being discarded.
Aggregated and anonymised statistics — for example the total number of attempts on a question — are retained. These no longer identify you and cannot be linked back to you.
Records we are required by law to keep are retained for the period the law requires, and are then deleted.
Routine backups may briefly still contain your data. They age out on their normal cycle and are not restored to bring an account back.

How long it takes

We acknowledge deletion requests promptly and complete verified deletions within 30 days of verifying your identity. If a request will take longer, we will tell you why.

After deletion

Deletion is permanent. Your progress, test history, and reward points cannot be recovered. You are free to register again later, but the new account starts empty.

Removing the app is not deletion

Uninstalling the app removes it from your device but does not delete your account. Use the email route above to delete the account itself.
